Any topical subject related to the world of mushrooms and their habitat, with mushrooms being the main protagonist.

All amateur photographers who wish to take part, with no age or nationality limits.

Personally, on Mondays, from 18:30 to 20h, at the Mycological Mondays meetings that take place at: Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agronómica, Alimentaria y de Biosistemas de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Av. Puerta de Hierro, 2, Moncloa, until Monday, 17 November 2025.
On Tuesdays from 17:30 to 19:30h, at the Orientation and Public Information Service for the determination of mushrooms in the autumn season, at Madrid Salud, calle Emigrantes 20, until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 18 November 2025.
PRESENTATION
Only works that have not won prizes in previous competitions.
Copies of the photos on digital devices (CD, DVD, pendrives, etc.) and colour paper copies of the same, whose size will be 20×30 cm.
All photographs will be mounted on white rigid cardboard, with a unique size of 24×34 cm.
Each author may submit up to a maximum of four photos, but only one can be awarded a prize.
Each photograph will have the scientific name of the species written in the lower left front box of the cardboard and a title or slogan common to all of them in the lower right box. The scientific name must be verified as valid at
In addition, inside a sealed envelope, the author’s details will be included, including full address, telephone number, slogan, scientific name of each photograph and the digital devices.
The fact of entering the competition authorises and allows the SMM to exhibit or publish the works received, using any reproduction method that current technology allows.
RETURN
The winning entries, as well as their digital devices, will become the property of the Sociedad Micológica de Madrid. The non-winning entries will remain at the disposal of the authors for a period of no more than 3 months, counted from the resolution of the competition. They will be returned by post when, together with the photos, they have sent an envelope with the appropriate address, size and postage for their return. Envelopes not returned by post can be requested emailing to the coordinator (see below the email address).
The Sociedad Micológica de Madrid is not responsible for any possible loss or damage.
PRIZES
A first prize consisting of a diploma and 360 euros.
A second prize consisting of a diploma and 180 euros.
A third prize consisting of a diploma and 90 euros.
Prizes may be declared void if, in the opinion of the jury, the photographs are not of sufficient quality.
Participants may not win more than one prize.
JURY
It will be made up of members of the board of directors, or persons designated by the board.
The jury’s decision and the prize-giving ceremony will take place during the annual Madrid Mushroom Exhibition, Sunday, 23 November 2025, at 5 p.m.
The Jury’s decisions will be final, and the fact of entering the competition implies acceptance of these rules.
